So Long As We’re All Naked Anyway…

“Naked I came into this world and naked I will leave it…” so the bible tells us. But it doesn’t say anything about having to be clothed in between.

Unless you count Adam and Eve’s fuck up – but even then – it was Adam and Eve that felt the need to hide their nakedness. God never told them they had to.

By that story I suppose there is an implied evilness to being naked. Adam and Eve ate the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil and immediately felt ashamed of their nakedness in front of god.

The fallacy in that is that if you believe in god as an all-knowing, all-seeing being as the bible teaches – unless you bath or shower with your clothes on and have found a way to change your cloths without being naked in between – peek-a-boo – god sees you!

And he’s not even your doctor! (Does god give your doctor exemption from this evil? Or is it yet another original sin?)

So thank god, I’m an atheist (paradox intended) so none of that shit applies to me anyway.

If it’s a sin – so be it – but I like to be naked. It is the ultimate freedom, the final abolition of all material goods, to stand before god and nature devoid of all possessions.

So why is it such a hang-up for so many people?

I don’t really think it has to do with the story of Adam and Eve, but when you think about it, besides being born or having a shower or bath – what other things do most people do naked? Not much.

You have sex naked, at least most of the time, so naturally people have come to associate being naked with sex.

So all our sexual hang-ups now have also become associated with being naked.

When I first suggested to my wife (almost 20 years ago) that I would like to go to a nudist beach with her – she quickly informed me that the first time she saw me with a hard on after seeing another naked woman… well no need to go into those details here.

But that was because she couldn’t differentiate between being naked with other people and an orgy. Having attended both, I can assure you it’s two very different things.

There is nothing inherently sexual about sunbathing naked, swimming naked or even taking a leisurely stroll down a beach naked.

And I can think of nothing more exhilarating than stripping off all my clothes in the hot sun on a Cuban beach; feeling a slight breeze touching every intimate part of my body as I walk into the cool ocean waters with the waves lapping erotically at my private parts while I wade deeper into the sea..

To my left and to my right are fellow nudists, some of whom I think may be a little offended that I have brought a camera to record our momentous occasion for posterity. (I have no interest in capturing a Kodak moment of any of them, although they have no way of knowing it.)

We have finally crossed one more thing off our lifetime “to-do list” and stood naked on a beach with strangers.

And hey – what the hell? Since we’re all naked anyway – anyone wanna fuck?
